Even the untrained eye can pick out a sloppy selection, so it's important that your work looks convincing. The trick is to find the right selection tool (or the right combination of tools) to make your selection correspond as exactly as possible to the part of the image you want to work with. In order to manipulate a specific part of your image, you first need to select that area. The first six tools in the toolbox are selection tools. We'll also explain why strange things happen when you try to move your selection for the first time. You need to have the background selected instead of the subject. To reach this, right-click on the layer you are using and click “Add Alpha Channel”. You will know that the conversion has been successful once the continuous lines turn scattered.Īn alpha channel will make it possible for you to have a transparent background. On the left sidebar, click “Selection from Path”. To be able to make adjustments to the subject, you need to convert the path into a selection. This way, the programme will connect the first and last dot around your subject. Once the path is drawn, press CTRL and click on the first anchor. You can adjust the anchors by dragging and moving them where needed. Make sure you place your anchors carefully and precisely. These lines give you the edge of the selection and it is where the cutting will be done. After this, start putting anchors around the subject.Īnchors are small circles connected by white lines.
